Building Information Modeling is the process of virtually building a structure in 3d that can be used through out the real building's life span. Within the building model, along with the architectural features can be structural, electrical and mechanical elements. Even after the building is constructed, facilities engineers can work with the BIM file to revise and plan for new updates and modifications.
